COLIN MASON B.SC, MMBA

CMO

Colin has devoted over three decades to building a significant career in marketing and strategic management. In a profession where most consultants operate in a silo or area of specialty, he references his own expertise and credentials as those of a ‘General Practitioner’. His back-ground and experience is uniquely broad and diversified, and yet practically based with roots in sales, advertising media, agency consulting and marketing management.

After securing his marketing management credentials at Western (UWO) in the early 80's he immediately joined Ben’s Bakery, as Marketing Manager. He led the firm through a major corporate brand transition which is still prominent today. During this time Colin helped found the Atlantic Marketing & Advertising Managers Association, an industry-led professional development initiative. He served as Co-Chairman and Treasurer for three years. Most recently he served as Marketing Director for Trade Centre Limited, leading a central in-house marketing team to serve all facilities, brands and divisions operating under the Trade Centre banner.

In 1995 Colin founded his own consulting practice with a client list including many public and private firms such as NS Provincial (Signature) Resorts, Nova Scotia Power, The Nova Scotia Museums, Canada Bread, Golf Nova Scotia, Greater Homes, Amos Pewter and Gallery One. He also served for two years as Director of Public Affairs for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. His volunteer roles included Marketing Chair for TIANS and Business Development Chair for the Halifax Chamber.
